Double split four patch, A cute easy block for you!

Start with 4 squares 5 " ea. place 2 lights and 2 darks catie cornered to each other and sew together into a 4 patch as this one.
Cut this block into 9 pieces as above example. Measure 1 1/4 inch from center seam on all sides and cut without disturbing fabric block if possible.




Leaving center unit and 4 corners in place, rotate the center blocks on all 4 sides 1/2 of a turn and should look like the next pic.

Chain piece these blocks together to keep blocks in place.

Sew 1st column to 2nd column, then sew the 3rd column to the first 2.
Your block should look like this one.  Now isn't that pretty?  I am thinking this unfinished block should measure 8 1/4"
